The Twinning project funded by the European Union is being implemented in Azerbaijan, State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan told Trend.
The State Statistics Committee said that the project aims to support the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy and the Committee in order to improve the collection, processing, analysis and publication of data in the field of business statistics.
"The project is being implemented by a consortium consisting of the Statistics Department of Finland (consortium leader), the Department of Statistics of Lithuania and the Central Bureau of Statistics of the Netherlands. The main beneficiaries of the organization are the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan and the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan," the report said.
According to the information, the overall goal of the Twinning project, designed for 17 months, is to increase the knowledge of local specialists in the collection, processing, analysis and publication of information on the activities of the private sector of small and medium-sized businesses in Azerbaijan.
"Within the framework of the project, it is planned to conduct missions aimed at increasing the capacity of the State Committee on Statistics and the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy in order to improve statistical business registers and bring business statistics methodology in line with EU standards, taking into account user demand for business statistics." the Committee said.
