John Deere to supply Turkmenistan’s private sector with agricultural machinery

At the request of 107 members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, John Deere company will supply 785 units of agricultural machinery to Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the Business Turkmenistan information portal.

Among the delivery there are 287 tractors, 48 combines, 450 units of other equipment.

John Deere has already delivered to the private sector of Turkmenistan tractors and units for them models JD 6155M and JD M724, the report says.

The equipment is purchased at the expense of credit funds provided to the representatives of Turkmenistan's private sector.

Earlier, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on financing agricultural machinery and equipment purchased by entrepreneurs, providing for the allocation of long-term loans.

Turkmenistan is using foreign equipment in its agricultural sector, and in particular, the equipment provided by such as John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG and Claas.

In August last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG signed a memorandum for the development of telematic digitalization in the country's agro-industrial sector.

According to the document, in the next few years, John Deere and Claas will deliver brands special equipment for Turkmenistan.

Reportedly, agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.
