Iran discloses details of exports

Iran exported 46.3 million tons of goods (excluding crude oil and white oil) worth $13.5 billion during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020), Director general of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Mehdi Mirashrafi said, Trend reports citing IRICA.

According to Mirashrafi, gasoline, polyethylene, methanol, urea and other goods were mainly exported goods during the reporting period.

He added that Iran exported 13.1 million tons of goods worth $3.7 billion to China in six months, and China accounted for 27.9 percent of Iran's total exports.

The director general stressed over the same period, Iran exported 9.28 million tons of goods worth $2.97 billion to Iraq, and Iraq accounted for 21.9 percent of Iran’s total exports.

Mirashrafi noted that Iran exported 7.16 million tons of goods worth $1.93 billion to the United Arab Emirates within 6 months, which accounted for 14.2 percent of Iran’s total exports.

“In addition, Iran exported 3.33 million tons of goods worth $1.1 billion to Afghanistan in six months, and Afghanistan accounted for 8.1 percent of the country's total exports,” he said.

The director general emphasized that Iran exported 1.45 million tons of goods worth $731 million to Turkey in six months, and its share in Iran's total exports was 5.3 percent.

“In total, Iran's exports to these five countries amounted to $10.4 billion. These countries accounted for Iran’s total exports 72 percent in terms of volume and 74 percent in terms of value,” he added.

According to the director general, Iran's foreign trade amounted to 62.8 million tons worth $30.3 billion during first six months of current Iranian year.
