The steel ingots production of 18 large Iranian steel companies increased by 7 percent during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20 - September 21, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
According to the report, Iranian companies produced more than 11.2 million tons of steel ingots during the reporting period.
“The Iranian companies produced more than 2 million tons of steel ingots in the 6th month of current Iranian year (August 22-September 21, 2020). This is an increase of 11 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year,” the report said.
According to the report, Iranian companies produced 7.2 million tons of steel products over six months. This is an increase of 3 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
While in the sixth month, the production of steel products amounted to 1.2 million tons and this is an increase of 9 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
“The iron ore production of Iranian companies increased by 6 percent to 24.6 million tons within 6 months compared to the same period last Iranian year. However, this figure was 4.2 million tons in the 6th month and increased 6 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year,” the report added.
According to the report, Iranian companies iron ore pellets production increased by 9 percent for six months of current Iranian year compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, 22.8 million tons of iron ore pellets were produced during this period.
“The production of iron ore pellets of these companies in the 6th month amounted to 4.1 million tons, which is an increase of 23 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year,” the report noted.
In addition, the sponge iron production of Iranian companies increased by 8 percent to 15.5 million tons over six months compared to the same period last Iranian year. While in the 6th month, this figure amounted 2.6 million tons and increased 12 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
