Turkmenistan receives new batch of agricultural machinery

A new batch of agricultural machinery has arrived in Lebap region of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.

Some 38 John Deere tractors, 33 Ortman-8375 cultivators and 24 cotton harvesters have been received.

This year 6 John Deere cotton harvesters arrived in Lebap, so their overall number reached 50.

Turkmenistan is using foreign equipment in its agricultural sector, and in particular, the equipment provided by US companies such as John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG and Claas. Thus, earlier John Deere company delivered more cotton harvesting machines to Turkmenistan.

In August last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG signed a memorandum for the development of telematic digitalization in the country's agro-industrial sector.

According to the document, in the next few years, John Deere and Claas will deliver brands special equipment for Turkmenistan.

Reportedly, agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetables, and fruits.
