Kazakhstan’s Qazgeology exploring for lead, zinc

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 9

By Nargiz Sadikhova – Trend:

Kazakhstan’s Qazgeology National Company is carrying out exploration work to search for lead and zinc in Severo-Aktan ore occurrence, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources.

The exploration site area site is 0.332 square kilometers. The company’s experts will have to identify and delineate promising areas and ore occurrences of lead, zinc and other minerals to assess the reserves of lead and zinc in the C2 category.

This work will also make it possible to determine predicted resources, to obtain a preliminary geological and economic assessment. Based on the results, a decision on further exploration work will be made, taking into account the prospects for this ore occurrence.

According to preliminary data, the Severo-Aktanskoe ore occurrence is a low-temperature manifestations of lead-zinc mineralization, which, perhaps, is sometimes superimposed on the zones of scanned rocks.

Kazakhstan’s Qazgeology National Company’s mission is a comprehensive geological study of the subsoil and providing reproduction of the country's mineral resources base in the field of solid minerals and groundwater.
