Buy/sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange increase

A total of 928,000 tons of goods worth more than 102 trillion rials (about $2.42 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (October 10 through October 15), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

Thus, this is an increase of 70 percent in terms volume and 90 percent in terms of value compared to the same period preceding Iranian week (October 3 through October 7).

According to the report, however, more than 543,500 tons of goods worth more than 53 trillion rials (about $1.26 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding Iranian week.

“A total of 523,000 tons of goods worth 71 trillion rials (about $1.69 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME,” the report said.

Moreover 457,000 tons of steel, 6,340 tons of aluminum, 8,120 tons of copper, 12 tons of precious metal concentrate, 120 tons of molybdenum sulfur, 51,200 tons of zinc, and 5 kg of gold were sold in this section.

“At the same time, 405,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 30.8 trillion rials (about $733 million) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME in the last week,” the report said.

According to the report, 108,000 tons of vacuum bottom, 131,000 tons of bitumen, 66,100 tons of polymeric substances, 42,000 tons of chemicals, 18,500 tons of lube cut, 1,460 tons of glass facades, 1,390 tons of base oil, 300 tons of slaps wax, 150 tons of argon, and 36,500 tons of sulfur were sold in this section.

Furthermore, 457 tons of various products were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
