Kazakhstan’s pharma company to build nonwoven fabric plant

Kazakhstan’s Dolce Pharm pharmaceuticals company is planning to build a nonwoven fabric producing plant for personal protective equipment, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.

The company’s manufacturing plant is in Kazakhstan’s Almaty region and employs 355 people at the moment. The company currently manufactures over 250 types of products, which are both supplied to the local medical institutions and are exported abroad. The company produces disposable medical goods, such as medical masks and gloves, shoe covers, sterile operating kits and disposable sheets.

The ministry also noted that the pharmaceutical industry is a very important sector of Kazakh economy and is the basis for the safety of life and health of the population. Currently, Kazakhstan is paying special attention to the development of this industry.

At the moment, there are 96 enterprises operating in the industry, 33 of which produce medicines, 41 medical devices and 22 enterprises produce medical equipment. The major share of these ventures is in four regions of the country: Almaty and Shymkent cities, as well as in Almaty and Karaganda regions.
