Indian Monnet company looking to launch ferrosilicon production in Kazakhstan’s Pavlodar

Indian Monnet company is looking to construct a metallurgical plant for manufacturing of ferrosilicon in Kazakhstan’s Pavlodar region, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Industry and Infrastructural Development.

The project implementation was discussed during a meeting between Kazakhstan’s Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development and the Chairman of the Board and Founder of the Monnet Group of Companies Sandeep Jajodia.

The future plant is to be 15,000 tons of product a year, with a further increase to 50,000 tons. The preliminary investments volume at the first stage amounted to $50 million, and to $200 million at the second stage. The goods produced at the plant will be mostly exported abroad.

The parties also discussed the issues of energy support of production at the Ekibastuz industrial zone of the Pavlodar region, as well as the possibilities of potential supplies of raw materials.

Established in 1994 produces various ferroalloys, such as silico mangenese, ferro manganese, and ferrochrome, that are used in the production of different grades of steel.

The Monnet Group also carries out extensive coal washing and beneficiation for both the public and private sectors. The company’s services in this field extend from concept to commissioning under a single roof and operation of washery both in coking and non-coking sectors.
