Iran continues to increase non-oil exports

TEHRAN, Iran, Oct.21

Trend:

Iran's non-oil export has increased and it is expected to grow in the second half of the current Iranian year (started March 20,2020), said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Trend reports via IRNA.

"We are not in a normal situation we are confronting sanctions and COVID-19. There were difficulties with foreign currency and exports in the early months of the current Iranian year (started March 20,2020), but the country's export has increased last week," said Rouhani.

Rouhani expressed hope that the second half of current Iranian year(started March 20,2020) would be even better.

"The government's efforts are to increase the non-oil exports. The non-oil export has increased since 2013 until today to $301 billion, and hopefully the volume would increase more by the end of the current ruling government (in August of 2021)," he said.

Rouhani pointed out that there has been a boost in petrochemical, steel, aluminum and copper sectors despite sanctions, and thanks to the improved non-oil exports.

"Iran has chosen a very perplex policy and achieved brilliant results, we have reduced our commitment on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action step by step, based on international regulations," he said.
