Iran assigns lands to develop Pardis Technology Park

TEHRAN, Iran, Oct.24

The conditions have been prepared to develop Pardis Technology Park and in the first step, about 400 hectares from national lands would be assigned to Pardi's innovation area, said Vice President for Science and Technology.

"There are 1,000-hectare national lands in the south of Pardis Technology Park and 400 hectares from these lands would be assigned to innovation area by the cooperation of Tehran governorate and Vice Presidency for Science and Technology," said Sorena Sattari, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"Innovation area is the core of science and technology park, ecosystem innovation hub and developer companies would gather in the area. Shopping centers, residential homes, universities, knowledge-based companies, and ecosystem innovation sectors would be part of the innovation area in Pardis Science and Technology Park," he added.

He also noted that Pardis Science and Technology Park in Tehran would be the leading force in Iran's economy in the future and would substitute oil resources by attracting domestic experts and Iranians outside the country to integrate innovation, industrial and residential sectors in the east of Tehran Province.

"Pardis Science and Technology Park has the best location for establishing innovation area and solve the daily needs of the capital and create jobs and value-added and turning the city into a smart city," he said.

It has been expected that the first phase of Pardi's innovation area would operate in 2024 and in this duration 20,000 jobs would be created and 1,000 companies, 100 experts, and 5,000 university students would be active in it. The area's expected export capacity is $120 million export and would have $7.1 billion in sales.
