A total of 3,005 tons of apples worth $1.3 million were exported from Georgia from August 1 to October 25, Trend reports the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture.
Apple exports 7-fold exceeds exports in the same period of 2019, the value of exports increased by $1.1 million.
Apples were exported to the Russian Federation (2,894 tons) as well as to Kazakhstan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
Across Georgia, intensive and semi-intensive apple orchards have been planted on the area of 1,128 hectares within the state program "Introduce the Future".
"The state co-financing amounted to more than 9 million lari ($2.8 million)," the statement reads.
