Azerbaijan’s AzerGold mining company and Azeri Mining Group LLC signed a contract worth over 49.2 million manat ($28.9 million), Trend reports citing the country’s e-procurement portal.
According to the portal, the winner of the tender announced by AzerGold on carrying out blasting operations at the Aghyokhush and Marakh gold-bearing ore mines and on transporting rocks to the Chovdar site for ore processing in the Dashkasan district of Azerbaijan has been determined.
By decision of the tender commission, Azeri Mining Group LLC was selected as the winner of the tender, added the portal.
Earlier, in accordance with the order of the President of Azerbaijan dated August 6, 2020, within the preparation of the primary assessment document for the re-commissioning of the Dashkasan iron ore deposit, AzerGold CJSC started geophysical research and geological exploration. The deposit with reserves in the volume of 350 million tons of ore was continuously exploited from 1954 to 1994, during which 92 million tons of minerals were extracted.
