Iran's exports from Bazargan customs declines

The value of Iran’s exports from the Bazargan customs of the West Azerbaijan Province (northwestern Iran) decreased by 57 percent from June 4 to November 14, 2020, compared to the same period last Iranian year, the Head of Bazargan Customs Office Mojtaba Bazgir told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Bazgir, about $135 million worth of goods were exported from the customs during the reporting period.

“The exported goods were mainly petrochemical products, plants, agriculture products, ceramics, glass materials, textiles, and steel products,” he added.

The official noted that furthermore, $1.93 billion worth of goods belong to other customs of Iran exported through the Bazargan customs over the same period. This is a decrease of 5 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in Iran, a number of border customs, including Bazargan border customs, have suspended their activities. The activities here resumed on June 4.

About $26 billion worth of goods is transited annually through Iran's Bazargan customs.
