Iran declares trade turnover with CIS countries

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 23

The value of Iran's exports to CIS countries amounted to $692 million during the first six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2020), Director General of Europe and America at Trade Promotion Organization of Iran Behrouz Hosne Olfat said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

The director-general noted that Iran increased the value of its exports to Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Moldova within the reporting period compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Hosne Olfat added that Iran's exports to other CIS countries including Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan decreased over 6 months compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“In addition, the value of Iran's imports from CIS countries amounted to $811 million in the first six months of the current Iranian year. The imports of essential products from Russia and Ukraine have increased. However, imports from other CIS countries decreased.

Iran's foreign trade turnover amounted to 62.8 million tons worth $30.3 billion during the first six months of the current Iranian year. Iran exported 46.3 million tons of non-oil products worth $13.5 billion over the reporting period.
