Preparation for spring sowing of agricultural crops begun in Turkmenistan

Preparations for spring sowing of agricultural crops have begun in Turkmenistan, Trend reports, citing the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

Landscaping work is also underway to plant new seedlings on time.

The country is taking steps to put in order for agricultural machinery and equipment that will be used in the upcoming sowing.

Turkmenistan is using foreign equipment in its agricultural sector, and in particular, the equipment provided by US companies such as John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG and Claas. Thus, earlier John Deere company delivered more cotton harvesting machines to Turkmenistan.

In August last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG signed a memorandum for the development of telematic digitalization in the country's agro-industrial sector.

According to the document, in the next few years, John Deere and Claas will deliver brands special equipment for Turkmenistan.

Reportedly, agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.
