Singapore Cooperation Enterprise to support e-commerce dev't in Kazakhstan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 1

By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Trade and Integration will cooperate with Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) on the development of digital trade and electronic commerce, Trend reports citing the ministry.

The corresponding memorandum signed oversees the development of bilateral cooperation through the exchange of best practices in the field of digital commerce and e-commerce.

The ministry said that the development of digital commerce is one of the priority tasks set by the Kazakh Government, and the expansion of cooperation on these issues with world leaders in this area is its integral part.

Within the framework of the memorandum, SCE, within its competence, will assist the ministry in five main areas of development, including the practical implementation of the roadmap for the introduction of digital initiatives in e-commerce and will also support the training of digital economy specialists.

The Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) was set up by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore in 2006 to respond effectively to the multitude of foreign requests interested in Singapore’s development experience.

SCE works closely with Singapore’s 16 ministries and over 60 statutory boards to scope out and tailor possible solutions to match the needs of foreign governments and help meet their development objectives. SCE also serves as the focal point of access to expertise from Singapore across its public agencies.

The ministry noted that Kazakhstan and Singapore have ample experience in close interaction on key economic issues and capacity building.
