Turkmenistan signs number of new documents in agro-industrial sector

Turkmenistan has signed a number of new documents in the agro-industrial sector, Trend reports with reference to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

Separate documents were signed by the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan with Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

Turkmenistan also signed agreements and memorandum of understanding on cooperation with other partners, in particular, the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC), the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), foreign companies Valmont Industries, Inc., Valey and JCB Sales Limited.

In addition, Turkmenistan’s Türkmen atlary State Association, in turn, signed a framework agreement on cooperation in the equine industry with China Horse Industry Association and ockey Club of Turkey and the memorandum of understanding with the French Institute for Horse and Riding.

The recently adopted resolution on the transfer of land plots to producers under state order was an important step for attracting private entrepreneurs to the agro-industrial sector of Turkmenistan.

The national climate change strategy and the national forest program are currently being successfully implemented, and much work is being done in the field of nature protection in the country.

The state provides targeted support for the development of the agricultural sector in Turkmenistan. In particular, the entire production infrastructure of the agro-industrial sector is being re-equipped and modernized, the chemical industry is developing, and modern tractors, combines, and other equipment are being purchased.

Reportedly, agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.
