Food products jump in price in Kazakhstan in Nov. 2020

The prices of food products increased by 9.6 percent in Nov. 2020 as compared to Dec. 2019 and by 1.3 percent as compared to Oct. 2020, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The prices of non-food items increased by 5.1 percent compared to Dec. 2019 and by 0.6 percent compared to Oct. 2020, whereas prices of paid services grew in price by 3.8 percent and 0.8 percent respectively.

During the reporting month of 2020, prices on sunflower oil increased by 10.7 percent, fresh vegetables by 8.5 percent, granulated sugar by 6.8 percent, eggs by 4.6 percent, potatoes by 3, 8 percent, cereals by 2.1 percent, flour by 1 percent, milk, butter by 0.8 percent each, pasta by 0.7 percent.

Tobacco products went up in price by 0.6 percent. In turn, a decrease in prices was observed on chicken rind by 1.8 percent, apples by 1 percent, millet by 0.5 percent.

The increase in prices for spare parts for personal vehicles amounted to 1.5 percent, gold jewelry to 1.2 percent, detergents and cleaning products to 1 percent, household appliances to 0.9 percent, clothes and shoes, furniture and household items to 0.7 percent each, tablets to 0.6 percent, medicines, personal goods, passenger cars to 0.5 percent each.

Furthermore, prices of winter diesel fuel dropped by 2.8 percent since the beginning of the year.
