Foreign trade grows between Russia’s Udmurtia, Turkmenistan

Foreign trade turnover between Russia’s Udmurtia (Russia) and Turkmenistan increased almost 30 times compared to last year, exceeding $940,000, said Chairman of the Government of the Udmurtia Yaroslav Semenov, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.

Semenov said this during his meeting with Consul General of Turkmenistan Atadurdy Bayramov.

By the end of the year, the foreign trade turnover may reach $1 million.

"Many enterprises of Udmurtia is interested in cooperation with Turkmenistan. In addition, we are also talking about the development of cultural and educational ties, which is also very important," Semenov said.

The consul general, in turn, expressed readiness to discuss concrete steps to strengthen cooperation in the above direction and stressed that Turkmenistan attaches particular importance to strengthening cooperation with the Russian Federation, including Udmurtia.

As was reported earlier, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Russia increased by 2.7 times during 1H2020, compared to the same period of 2019.

The trade turnover between countries amounted to $1 billion in 2019.
