Azerbaijan imported rice from January through October 2020 by 19.4 percent more than in the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to the statistics report of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
The import volume for the reporting period amounted to 48,290 tons. Azerbaijan imported rice worth $33.4 million from January through October 2020.
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to more than $21 billion from January through October 2020, which is 25.7 percent less than in the same period of 2019.
Some $12.2 billion accounted for export in the structure of foreign trade turnover, which is a decrease in annual terms by 27.3 percent. The share of export for the year decreased by 1.24 percentage points up to 58.25 percent of the total foreign trade turnover.
Import to Azerbaijan amounted to $8.8 billion from January through October 2020, having decreased by 23.5 percent compared to the same period of last year. The share of imports in the total turnover increased by 1.24 percentage points up to 41.75 percent of the total volume.
