Foreign investment in Iran increases

TEHRAN, Iran, Dec.5

Trend:

Despite certain difficulties, the volume of foreign investment in Iran has increased by 97 percent in the current Iranian year (started March 20, 2020) compared to the last Iranian year (started March 21,2019), Trend reports via IRNA.

Foreign investment in Iran has increased from $1.189 billion in the last Iranian year (started March 21,2019) to $2.3 billion in the current Iranian year (started March 20,2020).

Foreign investments in Iran during the first five months of the current Iranian year resulted in $2.4 billion.

Meanwhile, from September 2019 to August 2020 a total of 185 foreign investment plans were approved. Some 81 foreign investment plans were approved in August 2020, while during the same period last year only 54 plans were approved.

Iran's Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finances has drafted instructions for investment service centers across the country to create same direction with operational plans in these centers.

The ministry has also reduced the process of issuing permits for foreign investors from 45 days to 22 days.
