Number of restored enterprises in Iran's Qom province announced

The activities of 22 industrial enterprises were restored in Iran's Qom Province during the first 8 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2020), Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Qom Province Mahmoud Sijani said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

Sijani said that these enterprises operate in the cellulose, food, footwear, metal, chemical, mining and electrical industries.

He added that 5.4 trillion rials (about $128 million) was spent on the restoration of these enterprises and 468 people were employed.

The chairman stressed that there are 73,200 industrial and mining enterprises in Iran, of which 2,270 are in Qom Province.

According to him, the number of employees in industrial and mining enterprises of the province is 58,700 people. However, a total of 2.47 million people work in industry and mining enterprises in Iran.

Sijani noted that Qom Province mainly produces tires, rubber products, petrochemical products, footwear, furniture, sweets, motorcycles, household appliances, spare parts for car, cement, lime, heat-resistant bricks and manganese products.
