Kazakhstan agrees to develop int'l postal items transit in co-op with Belarus, Russia

Postal operator of Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan have signed a trilateral agreement on long-term cooperation in ensuring and developing the transit of international postal items, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Communications and Information of Belarus.

The trilateral agreement provides for the creation of logistics services for the delivery of international postal items between countries, the development and launch of products for organizing the transit of international postal items in the following directions: Asia - Europe, Europe - EAEU countries and adjacent markets, the US - EAEU countries.

Furthermore, the parties intend to develop unified technologies for processing international postal items and tariff policy, taking into account the economic interests of all parties.

The agreement was signed within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union cooperation, which Kazakhstan, Belarus, Russia are members of.

The Eurasian Economic Union is an international organization for regional economic integration. It has international legal personality and is established by the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union.

The EAEU provides for free movement of goods, services, capital and labor, pursues coordinated, harmonized and single policy in the sectors determined by the Treaty and international agreements within the Union.
