The Embassy of Uzbekistan and the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (UUIE) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the aim of further building up the industrial potential of Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to the Dunyo information agency.

The signing ceremony took place during an expanded meeting of the Anti-Crisis Council of Public Organizations of Ukraine and the Board of the UUIE on the topic "Priorities of industrial policy in the context of the exacerbation of the economic crisis as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic."

"Uzbekistan, as a friendly country for us, is interesting to Ukrainian industrialists and entrepreneurs not only as a direct partner in trade and cooperation but also as a strategic location on the map of Asia, which can serve as a platform for entering the markets of many countries," former Prime Minister of Ukraine, President of the Union Anatoliy Kinakh said at the signing ceremony.

During the event, information was given about the economic reforms being carried out in our country, in particular about the modernization and industrialization of the economy.

In addition, a great untapped potential for cooperation with Ukrainian partners with a scientific and industrial base and the extensive experience was noted.

Both parties agreed to develop a plan of joint activities in order to implement the provisions of the memorandum as soon as possible, which will make it possible to transfer the signed document to a practical level.

As a first step to further deepen industrial cooperation, it was decided to organize a business mission of the UUIE to Uzbekistan in the first half of 2021.
