Domestic Producer Price Index for Industrial Products up in Georgia

The Domestic Producer Price Index (DPPI) for Industrial Products (DPPI) in November 2020 increased by 2.8 percent compared to the previous month in Georgia, Trend reports referring to National Statistics Office (Geostat).

In the mentioned period the prices for manufactured products were 3 percent higher.

Compared to November 2019 the DPPI increased by 8.9 percent. The prices went up for manufactured products by 10.7 and for products from electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning by 4.7 percent.

In the same period prices for products from mining and quarrying decreased by 5.9 percent.

Share of the domestic exports in total Georgian export constituted 72.4 percent from January through November 2020 and amounted to $2.18 billion.

As reported, this is 4.5 percent higher than January-November 2019.

Domestic exports include the export of goods produced in the country, as well as imported from abroad, the value of which has significantly changed as a result of domestic processing.

From January through November 2020 the exports of Georgia (excluding non-declared exports) equaled $3.01 billion, 11.3 percent lower year-on-year.

In the reporting period, the share of the top ten trading partners by domestic exports in the total domestic exports of Georgia amounted to 79.1 percent. The top partners were China ($431.2 million), Russia ($360.3 million), and Bulgaria ($281 million).
