Turkmenistan is preparing lands for cotton and other crops, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

This was said during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

Along with this, winter wheat is taken care of, including fertilizing the crops with mineral fertilizers.

Agricultural machinery and aggregates are being repaired for the spring sowing season in Turkmenistan, the report says.

The importance of the wide introduction of modern agricultural technologies in the country, the study and practical application of world best practices, which contributes to the effective use of land and water resources, was noted.

Turkmenistan is using foreign equipment in its agricultural sector, and in particular, the equipment provided by US companies such as John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG and Claas. Thus, earlier John Deere company delivered more cotton harvesting machines to Turkmenistan.

In August last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG signed a memorandum for the development of telematic digitalization in the country's agro-industrial sector.

According to the document, in the next few years, John Deere and Claas will deliver brands of special equipment for Turkmenistan.

Reportedly, agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.
