Growth recorded in Baku's 11M2020 catering turnover

The turnover of the public catering sector in Baku dropped by 53.1 percent in real terms from January through November 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, making up 457.9 million manat ($269.3 million), Trend reports citing Azerbaijan’s Baku Statistical Department.

According to the department, 64 percent of the turnover in the private sector fell to the share of legal entities.

In the reporting period, 37 percent of the turnover in the private-public catering sector accounted for the share of individual entrepreneurs.

At the same time, the turnover of legal entities decreased by 34.2 percent year on year, equating to 293.3 million manat ($172.5 million).

In 2019, the volume of trade turnover in Baku rose by 4.2 percent compared to 2018 and amounted to 22.2 billion manat ($13.3 billion). The volume of food, drinks, and tobacco products sold in the trading network of the capital increased by 0.8 percent over the year and exceeded 10.5 billion manat ($6.17 billion). The volume of sales of non-food products increased by 7.7 percent and surpassed 11.6 billion manat ($6.82 billion).
