Copper ores and concentrates reclaimed the first place in the list of top export items for Georgia in 2020, equaling $729.4 million or 21.8 percent of total exports, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office reports (Geostat).
The exports of cars totaled $404.1 million and their share in the total exports amounted to 12.1 percent.
The ferro-alloys exports occupied held third place standing at $247.3 million and constituting 7.4 percent of the total exports.
The top import commodities in 2020 were cars whose imports equaled $759.5 million (9.5 percent of the total imports).
The copper ores and concentrates followed in the list with $533.5 million or 6.7 percent of imports. The petroleum and petroleum oils were third in the top import commodity list with $498.5 million (6.2 percent of imports).
The external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to $11.34 billion in 2020, 14.8 percent lower year-on-year. The exports equaled $3.34 billion (12 percent lower), while the imports stood at $8 billion (15.9 percent lower).
