Russia discloses volumes of agricultural products supplied to Georgia

Some 366,300 tons of Russian agricultural products were supplied to Georgia from Russia in 2021, Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) told Trend.

According to the source, in January 2021, Russia mainly sent to Georgia wheat and meslin (215,300 tons), as well as corn (132,900 tons) and barley (8,100 tons).

"In December, 95,900 tons of agricultural products were delivered from Russia to Georgia. Mainly Russia exported wheat and meslin (61,700 tons), corn (11,200 tons) and oilcakes (6,020 tons) to Georgia," noted the Rosselkhoznadzor.

"There were no complaints about the quality of Georgian products in January 2021," the Rosselkhoznadzor said.

In 2020, the foreign trade turnover between Georgia and Russia exceeded $1.32 billion, which comprises 11.7 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.

During the reporting period, Georgia exported products worth $441.07 million to the Russian market, which is 13.2 percent of total exports.

Meanwhile, Russian exported products worth $887.1 million to the Georgian market, which is 11.1 percent of total imports to Georgia.
