By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:
European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE) joined forces with the National Bank of Georgia to pursue a nation-wide financial literacy program for farmers, including digital training materials that are free of charge and open to the public, the EFSE told Trend.
According to the EFSE, in addition, the extraordinary circumstances of the year 2020 required some extraordinary measures.
"EFSE approved more loans to our Georgian partner financial institutions than ever before," the source said.
"And in the meantime, the EFSE Development Facility offered to its partners a COVID-19 emergency advisory services package to help mitigate and reduce the negative impact of the pandemic – such as training on process digitalization, risk management, crisis communications, and more – in order to help ensure the continued good health of the infrastructures upon which MSEs rely," the EFSE noted.
The European Fund for Southeast Europe aims to foster economic development and prosperity in the Southeast Europe region and in the European Eastern Neighborhood region through the sustainable provision of additional development finance, notably to micro and small enterprises and private households, via qualified financial institutions.
