Iranian customs help re-locate trucks amid fire from Dogharun border point

Iran's Customs Administration and other organizations stationed at Dogharun border point, managed to re-locate some 2,000 trucks that were in the area of fire in the area, said Iran Customs Administration Spokesman Rouhollah Latifi, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

Iran provided help in response to a request from Afghanistan's authorities to extinguish fire, after several oil and liquid gas tankers caught fire in the customs office of Islam Qala.

"Fire fighters has prevented the fire transmission to other areas, and Iranian firefighters have been containing the fire on Afghanistan soil since Feb. 13," Latifi said.

The official said the firefighters managed to reduce the spread of fire.

"A fuel transporting company has stated that 300 of its trucks were burned during the fire but the precise statistics about total damages aren't available yet," Latifi said.

"About 80 percent of trucks in Islam Qala were Afghan trucks and only 20 percent of trucks belonged to Iran," he said.
