Iran unveils details of imports and exports through Shahid Rajaee port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 15

A total of 4.5 million tons of goods were imported and exported via the 63 km long railway line built in the Shahid Rajaee port in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020) to February 3, Director General of Ports and Maritime Department in Hormozgan Province Alireza Mohammadi said, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.

Mohammadi emphasized that so, 3.5 million tons of goods were exported and 1 million tons were imported.

The official added that the products were transported in the form of bulk, and containers. These products were petroleum products, including oil and so on.

“The cargo transportation via railway in the Shahid port increased by 61 percent in the last 5 months (as of October 22, 2020),” he noted.

As reported, about 4.43 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 21 through December 20, 2020).
