Gasoline prices surge in Kazakhstan

Inflation rate in Kazakhstan amounted to 1.1 percent in February 2021 as compared to January 2021, and to 7.4 percent as compared to February 2020, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The increase in prices was observed on fresh vegetables by 4.4 percent, eggs by 3.6 percent, sunflower oil by 2.3 percent, potatoes by 2.2 percent, granulated sugar by 1.6 percent, fresh fruits by 1.5 percent, flour, bread by 1.3 percent each.

Prices on pasta increased by 1.2 percent, tea by 1 percent, chicken legs by 0.9 percent, cereals, butter by 0.8 percent each, beef, lamb by 0.7 percent each, pasteurized milk, horse meat by 0.6 percent each.

Tobacco products rose in price by 2.3 percent, alcoholic beverages by 0.7 percent. A decrease in prices was observed on white cabbage by 2 percent, millet by 0.4 percent, rice by 0.3 percent.

The increase in prices on cars was 1.7 percent, household appliances - 1.2 percent, detergents and cleaning products - 0.8 percent, clothes and footwear - 0.5 percent, construction materials - 0.4 percent, textiles, personal goods - 0.3 percent each. Gasoline also increased in price by 0.5 percent.
