Volume of exports from Iran's Qom Province increases

The exports through the customs of the Qom Province (northern Iran) increased by 1.6 percent in terms of volume during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through February 18, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of Qom Province Customs Office, Esfandiar Derikvandi said, Trend reports citing Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Derikvandi stressed that more than 110,000 tons of goods worth $130 million were exported through the customs of Iran's Qom Province over the reporting period.

“The exported goods were mainly pellets, various footwear, lead ingots, copper wires, rubber, chemicals and hydrocarbon products,” he added.

The director general noted that the goods were mainly exported to Iraq, Afghanistan, the UAE, India, Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

According to him, in addition, 47,500 tons of goods worth $239 million were imported to Iran's Qom Province within the 11 months.

Derikvandi emphasized the imported goods were mainly spare parts for motorcycles, acrylic fibers, spare parts for washing machines, medical supplies. These goods were mainly imported from South Korea, China, India, Italy, the UAE, Turkey and Japan.

“The customs revenues of the Qom Province amounted to 1.99 trillion rials (about $47.3 million) for 11 months,” he said.
