Volume of food products sold in trade network of Azerbaijan’s Baku city increases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 5

The volume of trade turnover in Azerbaijan’s Baku city in January 2021 decreased by 0.6 percent compared to January 2020 and amounted to 1.7 billion manat ($1 billion), Trend reports on March 5 citing the Baku City Statistics Department.

The volume of food, drinks and tobacco products sold in the trading network in Baku increased by 3.8 percent in January 2021 compared to January 2020 and amounted to more than 882.4 million manat ($519.05 million) in total terms.

The volume of sales of non-food products decreased by 4.5 percent and amounted to 875 million manat ($514 million).

Some 33.7 percent of the sold products accounted for enterprises with the status of a legal entity, 55.5 percent - trade facilities owned by individual entrepreneurs while 10.8 percent - on the markets of Baku.

The volume of trade turnover in Baku in 2020 increased by 0.5 percent compared to 2019 and amounted to 23.06 billion manat ($13.5 billion).

The volume of food, drinks, and tobacco products sold in the trading network in Baku increased by 6.4 percent during the reporting period compared to 2019 and amounted to more than 11.8 billion manat ($6.9 billion) in total terms. The volume of sales of non-food products decreased by 4.6 percent and amounted to 11.3 billion manat ($6.6 billion).

Some 29.4 percent of the sold products accounted for the enterprises with the status of a legal entity, 54.2 percent - trade facilities owned by individual entrepreneurs while 16.4 percent - on the markets of Baku.
