The trade sector (including repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles) has the highest share (35.9 percent) in the total turnover in business sector in 4Q2020 in Georgia, Trend reports citing Georgian National Statistics Service (Geostat).
The other spheres include:
arts, entertainment and recreation - 31.3 percent share,
manufacturing – 9.3 percent,
construction – 7.8 percent,
transportation and storage – 4.5 percent,
electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – 3 percent
other sectors - 8.1 percent share
In 4Q2020, manufacturing (23.7 percent), construction (21.6 percent), trade (17.7 percent) and transportation and storage (8.4 percent) are on the top four places in business sector production value. The rest of the sectors account for 28.5 percent share.
In the reporting period, trade (wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles), manufacturing and Human health and social work activities are leading in business sector by number of employees (accordingly with 26.6 percent, 13.3 percent and 11.2 percent share).
However, construction activities (10.6 percent), enterprises engaged in transportation and storage (7.7 percent) and accommodation and food service activities (4.1 percent) have also a significant share.
By regions, the following regions are leading in gross turnover:
Tbilisi – 79.5 percent
Kvemo-Kartli – 4.8 percent
Adjara – 4.2 percent
Imereti – 3 percent
Samegrelo-Zemo svaneti – 2.7 percent
By regions, the ollowing regions are leading in gross production value:
Tbilisi – 63.8 percent
Kvemo-Kartli – 8.9 percent
Adjara – 7.1 percent
Imereti – 5 percent
Samegrelo-Zemo svaneti – 4.9 percent
