Employment in Iran's industrial sector increases

The employment in Iran’s industrial sector increased by 28 percent during the 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020, through January 19, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, said Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran, Mehdi Sadeghi Niaraki, Trend reports citing the IRNA.

He made the remark in a meeting with private sector businessmen in the Ardabil Province (northeastern Iran).

The deputy minister emphasized that 107,000 people were employed in the industrial sector in Iran over the reporting period.

Sadeghi Niaraki added that 5,700 industrial facilities have been put into operation in Iran over the past 10 months.

“The number of licenses issued for the launch of industrial enterprises in Iran increased by 8 percent and for the establishment of facilities - by 38 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he said.

According to Sadeghi Niaraki, the activities of 1,500 manufacturing and industrial enterprises were restored in Iran within 10 months. Furthermore, the activities of 56 enterprises were restored in Ardabil Province during the mentioned period and 1,200 people were employed.
