By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

The exports from the Gilan Province (northern Iran) increased by 34 percent in terms of value and 24 percent in terms of volume during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through February 18, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Chairman of Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization of Gilan Province Farhad Dalghpoush said, Trend reports citing the IRNA.

He made the remark in an acquaintance webinar on the markets of Iran and Kazakhstan.

Dalghpoush emphasized that about 1.04 million tons of goods worth $592 million were exported from Gilan Province over the reporting period.

The chairman added that trading via Anzali, Caspian, and Astara ports in Gilan Province is a reliable and ideal way to trade with Kazakhstan.

According to him, Iranian and Kazakh businessmen can possess an important role using North-South Corridor and the Caspian Sea.

Dalghpoush noted that the value of trade turnover between Iran and Kazakhstan in 2020 amounted to $107 million, which is very small. The necessary programs should be prepared to increase trade turnover.

“There are minimum 85,000 large, small and medium-sized enterprises in Iran, and about 2.6 million people work in these enterprises,” he said.

The official stressed there are 36 industrial parks operating in Gilan Province. These industrial parks have about 3,000 industrial and manufacturing enterprises. In general, 82,000 people work in these enterprises.

Dalghpoush said that Iran's Gilan province may play a major role in boosting joint cooperation and investment between Iran and Kazakhstan
