Highest growth rate of Uzbek enterprises recorded in Surkhandarya region

The highest growth rates in the number of enterprises and organizations in Uzbekistan as of March 1, 2021, were recorded in the Surkhandarya region, which amounted to 30.1 percent, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

According to the State Statistics Committee, the number of enterprises and organizations in the country as of March 1, 2021, amounted to 487,967, increasing by 76,903 compared to the same period last year.

It is reported that the average growth rate of enterprises and organizations for the country amounted to 18.7 percent, while the highest growth rates were recorded in Surkhandarya (30.1 percent), Jizzakh (20.9 percent), Kashkadarya (24.2 percent), and Samarkand (22.9 percent) regions.

By types of economic activity, the greatest growth, compared with the corresponding period of 2020, was noted in agriculture, forestry and fisheries (41.7 percent), trade (27.4 percent), information and communication (120.6 percent), as well as in industry (18.7 percent).

In addition, 18,565 new household units were added in the country in 2M2021. The report notes that the growth rate of the number of newly created enterprises, compared to the same period last year, amounted to 7.7 percent.

In the context of industries, significant growth in the number of enterprises and organizations in Uzbekistan for 2M2021 was observed in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries - 79.7 percent, information, and communications - by 34 percent, healthcare and social services - by 5.4 percent, as well as in Surkhandarya - 20.3 percent. Kashkadarya - 62.1 percent, Fergana - 40.4 percent, Jizzakh - 36.3 percent, Namangan - 7.8 percent, and Bukhara - 35.9 percent regions.
