The value of exports from Azerbaijan to Spain amounted to $138.5 million in January 2021, which is almost 3 times more compared to January 2020, Trend reports referring to the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.
Accordingly, the share of Spain in total exports of Azerbaijan has risen from 2.2 to 8.53 percent.
“At the same time, the import of Spanish products to Azerbaijan over the year increased from $4.05 million to $5.55 million - by 37 percent. Spain’s share in total imports of Azerbaijan in January 2021 amounted to 0.7 percent, while in January 2020, this figure was equal to 0.56 percent,” the report said.
“The volume of foreign trade operations between the two countries during the reporting month amounted to $144.1 million, an annual increase of 2.8 times. The balance of foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan with Spain for the reporting month remained positive, amounting to $133 million,” the bulletin reads.
Azerbaijan's total foreign trade turnover in January 2021 exceeded $2.4 billion. Of these, more than $1.62 billion (67.34 percent) accounted for exports, $787.5 million (32.66 percent) - for imports.
