Kazakhstan eyes setting up wholesale distribution centers in Tajikistan

Kazakhstan and Tajikistan are looking to jointly set up wholesale distribution centers and joint ventures in Tajikistan, Trend reports citing Kazakh Ministry of Trade and Integration.

The topic was discussed during the meeting of a joint working group on a mutual increase in trade and an increase in the range of supplied goods between the countries.

During the meeting, the Kazakh side noted the existing potential for increasing mutual trade by more than 10 percent by increasing exports to Tajikistan.

Taking into account the urgency of ensuring food security of the countries, Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Torebaev Kairat proposed to create an Interstate commodity distribution system of the two countries.

Following the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to update the existing one and adopt a new Roadmap to increase trade between the countries for the period from 2022 through 2023.

The future roadmap is to provide for new effective mechanisms to reach set up goals, to promote the successful practice of holding business forums, trade missions, exhibition and fair events, and other events that contribute to mutual promotion of goods and services.
