Iran needs to create new markets to support production - Iranian MP

TEHRAN, Iran, March.22

Trend:

A member of the Iranian Parliament said the progress and improvement of the country's economy depend on production, support, and removal of barriers.

Referring to the naming of the new Iranian year (started on March 21) by Supreme Leader, Iranian MP Ahmad Alireza Beigi says that repetition of economic slogans by the Supreme Leader for many years shows the importance of this issue for the fate of the country, Trend reports citing ILNA.

“Therefore, it is necessary for the government, the parliament, and the judiciary, as well as the people, to consider this issue as the main goal,” he said.

Stating that infrastructure is needed to be able to improve production, he said that "There is no doubt that we must provide the conditions to support the production.”

“The government has allocated over $41.5 billion at subsidized foreign currency rate of 42,000 rials per dollar for import of basic goods, but people do not feel the impact of this allocation of subsidized foreign currency in their life,” he added.

Alireza Beigi said that such allocation makes a gap between the real and the market prices.

"Unplanned payments create smuggling,” he added. “Iran needs to create new markets to support production.”

He pointed out that the parliament made efforts to support production.
