Iran discloses volume of cargo transported via Bilasuvar customs checkpoint

In general, more than 780,000 tons of cargo was transported by 34,800 trucks through the Bilasuvar customs checkpoint in the Ardabil Province (northwestern Iran) in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Director General of the Road and Transport Department of Iran’s Ardabil Province, Kalimollah Vosughi told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Vosughi, about 357,000 tons of goods were exported from Iran through the Bilasuvar customs checkpoint by 15,800 trucks in the last Iranian year. This is a decrease of 21 percent, compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020).

“In addition, 13,700 tons of goods were imported to Iran through Bilasuvar customs checkpoint by 698 trucks in the last Iranian year. This is a decrease of 51 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year,” he added.

The Bilasuvar border checkpoint is located on the border between Iran and Azerbaijan.

The rest of the transported cargo is related to transit.
