Iranian major mining companies obtain main equipment domestically

Iranian 12 major mining companies acquired needed equipment worth $524 million at the expense of domestic production during the first 11 months of last İranian year (from March 20, 2020 through February 18, 2021), Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, these companies operate in the area of iron ore, steel, copper, aluminum and others.

Over the 11 months, the Esfahan Steel Company bought about $141 million worth of equipment at the expense of domestic production, Khuzestan Steel Company – about $110 million, and National Iranian Copper Industries Company – $100 million.

In addition, Iran's Gol-Gohar Industrial and Mining Company bought equipment worth $70.4 million at the expense of domestic production, Mobarakeh Steel Company – $47 million and Hormozgan Steel Company – $20 million.

As reported, it was planned to be provided $500 million worth of equipment and spare parts in Iran’s mining sector through domestic production in the last Iranian year.
