BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12
Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:
Georgia will do our best to justify the economic growth forecast, said Minister of Economy Natia Turnava, Trend reports via Georgian media.
She made the remark in response to a question about a possible revision of the growth outlook.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has cut its economic growth forecast for Georgia - the organization expects only a 3.5 percent recovery in the country this year when the previous forecast was for 4.3 percent growth. The Georgian government maintains a 4.3 percent growth forecast.
According to Turnava, the government is not going to cut the economic growth forecast.
"We will do our best to achieve high economic growth and the privatization program, "Produce in Georgia" and agricultural programs will help us with this task. Everything will be done to justify our growth outlook," Turnava noted.
