Iran boosts aluminum ingots production

Iran's aluminum ingots production increased by 61 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021), compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019, through March 19, 2020), Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, Iran produced about 446,000 tons of aluminum ingots over the last Iranian year. While in the preceding Iranian year, more than 278,000 tons of aluminum ingots were produced in Iran.

The aluminum ingots were produced by 4 Iranian companies – Iranian Aluminum Company, Al-Mahdi Aluminum Company, South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO), and Iran Alumina Company.

So, the Iranian Aluminum Company produced about 185,000 tons of aluminum ingots, Al-Mahdi Aluminum Company – 163,000 tons, South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO) – 72,100 tons, and Iran Alumina Company – 25,400 tons last Iranian year, the report said.

While in the 12th month of last Iranian year (February 19 through March 20, 2021), Iran’s aluminum ingots production exceeded 41,000 tons. This is an increase of 38 percent compared to the same month preceding the Iranian year. So, Iran produced 30,000 tons of aluminum ingots in the same month preceding the Iranian year.
