Exports from Iran's Gilan Province rise

The exports from the Gilan Province (northern Iran) increased by 28 percent in terms of value and 22 percent in terms of volume last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020), Chairman of Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization of Gilan Province Farhad Dalghpoush said, Trend reports citing the organization.

The chairman said that Iran exported 1.17 million tons of goods worth about $665 million from Gilan Province last Iranian year.

He added that the exported goods were mainly ceramics, marble, food products, rubber products and etc.

Dalghpoush emphasized that these goods were mainly exported to Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Afghanistan and Iraq.

“Moreover, 441 tons of goods worth $1.76 million were exported from Gilan Province through portfolio trade,” he said.

The official noted that imports of Gilan Province increased by 11 percent in terms of value and 28 percent in terms of volume last Iranian year, compared to the preceding Iranian year.

Reportedly, 1.72 million tons of goods worth $966 million were imported through the customs of Gilan Province last Iranian year.

"The imported goods were mainly soybeans, cooking oil, wood, paper, chemicals, industrial equipment and spare parts, essential products," the chairman added.

Dalghpoush stressed these goods were mainly imported from Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Azerbaijan, the UAE, Ukraine and Ecuador.
