Georgia reveals data on exports to Russia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 22

Georgia exported 8,312 tons of wine to Russia for a total amount of $17.1 million from January through March 2021, which is 314 tons less compared to the same period last year, Trend reports referring to the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

In the reporting period, Georgia exported 26,137 tons of ferroalloys worth $30.7 million to Russia. Over the same period last year, 25,599 tons of ferroalloys totaling $23.9 million were exported from Georgia to Russia.

Meanwhile, 24,584 tons of natural, mineral and aerated waters not containing added sugar, worth $14.13 million were exported from Georgia to Russia.

During the reporting period, Georgia exported 1,482 tons of alcoholic beverages in the amount of $6.78 million to Russia. In 1Q2020, the export of alcoholic beverages from Georgia to Russia amounted to 1,480 tons, totaling $7.08 million.

Georgia exported 5,628 tons of waters, mineral and aerated waters, containing added sugar to Russia in a total amount of $3.93 million in the reporting period.

From January through March 2021, the foreign trade turnover between Georgia and Russia exceeded $329.8 million, which comprises 11.9 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.

During the reporting period, Georgia exported products worth $109.4 million to the Russian market, which is 13.3 percent of total exports.

Meanwhile, Russian exported products worth $220.3 million to the Georgian market, which is 11.3 percent of total imports to Georgia.
