Georgia sees increase in vegetables export

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 22

The volume of export of vegetables from Georgia in the first quarter of 2021 amounted to $4.52 million, Trend reports referring to the National Statistical Office of Georgia.

The share of vegetables in Georgia's total exports for the same period is 0.6 percent.

The main positions in the group were occupied by potatoes - $0.62 million, tomatoes - $0.49 million, cucumbers - $0.29 million.

The volume of export of vegetables in comparison with the indicator of a year ago increased by 7.4 percent.

From January through March 2020, vegetables worth $4.21 million were exported from Georgia. The share of vegetables in the total export volume was 0.5 percent.

The leading positions were: potatoes - $0.78 million, tomatoes - $0.65 million, mushrooms of the Agaricus family - $0.39 million, eggplants - $0.33 million.
